What Is The Course About?
This course provides an introduction to computer hardware, operating systems & Microsoft Office. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on performing tasks that simulate work situations.
The training topic outline provides a summary of course topics that can be used as a guide when progressing through the course. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Perform basic computer operations.
- Using both computer input and output devices.
- Working with word processing, spreadsheets, publication programs and more.
- Using the Internet and Email.
Students will be able to understand the basics of computer applications, the use of an internet browsers, how to establish and maintain an email account, how to text message, how to navigate such programs as basic word processing and accessories programs, using established databases and search engines to find information on the internet, and being able to copy, save, and print documents from various sources.
The student will learn to identify the parts and the functions of the parts of personal computers. Following that knowledge, this course will cover the topics of developing hand-eye coordination by mouse usage and basic keyboard skills such as text production and use of the function keys.
Where will the classes take place?
The intake is in progress. The course is taking place at Watu Workspace, Donholm, Nairobi, Kenya.

The course is ideal for form four leavers, college students and anyone who would like to improve their computer skills.
The course takes two months.

By the end of this course, students will acquire the skills needed to operate a computer, create and save documents and perform all the basic computer operations.
